I just revisited my posts for December 1, 2019. It was a different world: Samoa and other Pacific nations were battling a serious measles outbreak, and Dr. Tedros was praising the courage of Ebola responders in the DR Congo who were coming under yet more attacks from violent groups.
But it was only a year ago, and disasters like measles, malaria, and countless other diseases are still with us—and aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
I wonder what December 1, 2021 will be like.
